Psychologist Class in Animal Hospital: Double Sanity

The mustachioed green rabbit in the formal shirt is the biggest gamble and the biggest payoff among Animal Hospital’s coin classes. The Psychologist doubles every Sanity effect in the game, good and bad, and hands you a full 100% Sanity bar to play with.

How the Perk Works

At its core: all Sanity changes are doubled. Coffee heals 30 instead of 15. Chocolate heals 120 instead of 60. Finishing a surgery gives 2 instead of 1. But a Head Banger jumpscare that normally costs 20 Sanity costs you 40, and fire, ghosts, and enemy attacks all hit twice as hard. Two important exceptions soften the downside: the Psychologist starts at 100% Sanity rather than the default 60-65%, and job stress is effectively excluded, because the class passively regains 1 Sanity to cancel the doubled job-stress tick.

LevelPerk
1All Sanity effects doubled (negative and positive)
2Doubled effects, 7.5% chance to ignore Sanity loss
3Doubled effects, 15% chance to ignore Sanity loss

At level 3, roughly one in seven hits simply does not happen. That dodge chance transforms the class from high-risk to comfortably high-reward.

Buying It

500 Animal Coins at the lobby class shop, via the Classes button on the left of the screen or the yellow circle beside the ambulance, left of spawn. With treatments paying 2 coins each and anomaly rejections 0.5, it is a realistic early-to-mid-game savings target. Levels cost the standard 200 EXP and then 850 EXP.

Playing Around the Double Edge

  • Recovery items become absurd. A single chocolate bar restores 120 Sanity to a Psychologist, which is more than a full default health bar. Even humble mint tea lands at 30-60. Stock up and you become nearly unkillable.
  • Avoidable damage is now twice as unavoidable. Learn every enemy and anomaly tell, because a Camera Monster or Head Banger jumpscare at -40 Sanity can gut your bar in one moment. Never dismiss a Head Banger without coffee.
  • Stack with Sanity-positive habits. Tasing an anomaly normally gives 2 Sanity, doubled to 4 for you. Small routine gains compound into serious sustain across a shift; the numbers live in the sanity guide.
  • Rush level 3. The jump from 7.5% to 15% ignore chance is the difference between a spicy class and the best coin class in the game, so funnel your EXP here.

Where It Lands

S tier, alongside the Robux-only Secret Agent, per our tier list. Nothing else you can buy with coins bends the game’s core resource this hard: a 100% starting bar, doubled healing, job stress neutralized, and a growing chance to no-sell damage outright. The honest caveat is that the Psychologist punishes sloppy play harder than any class; a new player who eats every jumpscare will feel the doubling as a curse. If that is you, the gentler Secretary is the better stepping stone.

For everyone else, this is the definitive 500-coin purchase and arguably the last class you ever need without spending Robux.
