Security Class in Animal Hospital: X-Taser & Camera Kit

If your instinct in a horror shift is to fight rather than hide, Security is the coin class built for you. For 1250 Animal Coins, the gray guard in the SECURITY cap walks into every game already armed.

The Kit at Each Level

Security’s perks are all equipment. Level 1 grants an X-Taser with 5 uses at the start of the game. Level 2 adds a Deployable Camera to your starting loadout, and level 3 makes the X-Taser regenerate 1 use each round.

LevelPerk
1Start with X-Taser (5 uses)
2Start with X-Taser and a Deployable Camera
3X-Taser and Deployable Camera; X-Taser regenerates 1 use each round

The class also comes with $20 starter cash. Starting Sanity is the standard 60-65%.

Unlocking Security

Find it in the lobby class shop for 1250 Animal Coins, via the Classes button on the left side of your screen or the large yellow circle next to the ambulance, left of the spawn point. That price makes it one of the longer coin grinds in the game at 2 coins per treated patient, so most players buy it well after their first sustain class. Leveling costs the universal 200 EXP for level 2 and 850 more for level 3.

Tactics for the House Guard

  • Tase anomalies, never patients. Tasing an anomaly or Mimic actually grants 2 Sanity, while tasing an innocent patient costs you 15. Your whole class value depends on correct identification, so drill the anomaly warning signs until they are reflex.
  • Regular players unlock the taser during the early shifts; you skip that wait entirely. Starting armed from Shift 1 means the first Mimic reveal of a run is your moment, not your funeral.
  • Place the Deployable Camera to cover blind spots. It has a useful side benefit: the Camera Monster, which ambushes players through broken security cameras for a 20-Sanity jumpscare, does not appear on a Deployable Camera.
  • Spend the $20 head start early. It is not much, but it accelerates your first Supplies Shop visit.
  • Budget your recovery items like everyone else. Security has no self-healing, so the standard economy applies: coffee for 15 Sanity, mint tea for 15-30, chocolate for 60. See the sanity guide for the full picture.

Bottom Line

Security holds a B-tier slot on the tier list: genuinely useful, never dominant. A free renewable taser plus camera coverage is real defensive value, and in chaotic public lobbies an armed teammate saves runs. The knocks against it are the price and the ceiling. At 1250 coins it costs two and a half Psychologists, and the Psychologist simply wins more runs. Meanwhile the Robux-only Secret Agent occupies the same fighter fantasy with a gun, a scanner, extra inventory, and Sanity rewards for kills.

Buy Security if you have coins to spare and enjoy the guard role, or as a coin-only alternative to the Secret Agent. If you are still building your first loadout, our classes overview will point you to cheaper wins first.
